Algorithms shape everything we see, from your social media feed to loan approvals and even your navigation. Yet, many are “black boxes”: their inner logic is hard or impossible to see. Relying on them risks a world where AI decisions can’t be challenged or explained. In this pub lecture we’ll unpack the ethics of explainable algorithms: do we even want explainable AI, in what ways can we make it explainable, and how do we avoid AI that we can’t understand? The pub lecture will be given by Barend de Rooij, but you can share your take on where we should draw the line on explainable AI!
The pub lecture will take place on the 11th of May, in Klein Café van Horen Zeggen, from 19:00 to 21:00.
Come join the lecture to listen to the facts, share your take and of course enjoy a drink!
